How to cut no-shows at your pickleball courts
Reminders, deposits and clear rules that keep prime-time slots from going empty.

A no-show at 7 PM is the most expensive hour of your week: it was turned away from someone else and it can’t be sold again. You won’t get no-shows to zero, but a few habits cut them a lot.
1. Remind every booking
Players who gave an email get a reminder 2–3 hours before, with the time, court and a link to cancel. Most no-shows are people who forgot or whose plans changed — a reminder turns them into a cancellation you can resell.
2. Make cancelling easy and the rule clear
Set a free-cancellation window (for example, up to 12 hours before) and write your policy in your own words. Players see it right above the pay button, so nobody can say they didn’t know.
3. Ask for something upfront at busy times
- A deposit (25–75%) on bookings, paid to your own GCash or Maya.
- Or pay at the venue only for regulars: trusted numbers, or players who have played with you before.
4. Mark no-shows
After the start time, mark a no-show on the booking. You can flag the number too. Numbers flagged by enough different venues must pay upfront everywhere on CourtSpace — so one player can’t keep doing it around town.
5. Check players in
Check-in from the Today view (or the entrance QR, if you turn it on) tells you who actually came. It also shows which reminders worked.
Rain? Close the courts for the affected hours and everyone booked gets told in one go, with a one-tap rebook.
